with the objective of "making a difference in the lives of million
differently abled people by 2015".
The challenge is to design, prototype and technology transfer a range of
affordable embedded low cost devices using state of the art technology,

Bus Identification System for the Visually Challenged
Visually impaired persons depend heavily on public buses for commuting. Our system allows the user to identify the route number of buses approaching a bus stop, select the bus of interest and navigate towards the entry. [more, videos]
‘Smart’ Cane for the Visually Challenged
The ‘smart’ cane is an affordable system mounted on a white cane that detects obstacles above knee height, within a range of 3 metres and conveys distance information through varying vibratory patterns. [more, videos]
